Soon to be new owner??

Recommended Posts

Hello all..I'm not going to get into all the specs on this tread. Here is a little about the boat I am looking at. The price is right and really can't pass it up.

It's a 2001 262. 5.7merc (300hp) (360hrs), Bravo 3, New full canvas, GPS system, new bottom paint. No rips or stains on upholstry. The boat is owned by my brother-in-laws - Fathers - friend

Some of the things that were done in the beginning of 2014. MUCH more has been done that this. I also have all the receipts for the work done in the past 5 years. The boat has not been in the water since the repairs.

The motor was removed , checked and freshened up...New, Heads, manifolds, risers, oil pan alt, hoses, ect....Serviced outdrive, Gimble bearing, bellows, all fluids ect...

The boat is winterized right now and the owner is going to pay to commision it so I can go for a test drive. I was looking for some info what to look for on checking the steering system. Looseness, hose problems ect..

One other thing. Where is a good place to get replacement parts like frig door handle, lights ect..

Thanks Marc

Hire a marine surveyor. They evaluate the vessel and give you a report. They can also do evaluation of fluids as well. Safest way to go. Trust no one, so your protected.
