  3. Hi David, First off all what´s your engine type? is a mpi mercury? what kind off gauges do you have are they smartcraft?, the gauge off the power trim goes from UP to Down don´t have only 2 positions, something is wrong if i where you i enter the mercury site and live that question to them, or juast give a call to mercury distribuiter. Best Regards Marfi
  4. Hi, Are you talking about a beep when you turn the key to on? i had a yamaha 5.7 all i need to do is open the air ( if you do not know how you open the air ask to a mercury dealer) give it a few seconds to pull gasoline into the carburated and then turn the key. I don´t think this helps but in a mpi Mercury engine you turn the key to on and a beep cames along after the beep just turn the key on, but those type off engines are not carburated are injection. Try out the Mercury site they are your best choice. Best Regards Marfi
  5. Hi Ian, Give me just an opinion are you talking about this ( i think is on attach ), because this is what i´m thinking about and is above the water line in fact is above the swimplatform Best Regards Marfi
  6. Hi there, it´s funny i just put the link for that, i´m going to buy the davits i just have to make the formula he puts on the site, i have a 278sc new one, take a look to this: Example: If your dinghy width is 60", then divide by 2 + 4" = 34". If your swim platform is 32", by adding 2" to the platform this would make it equal to the dinghy width of 34" so then you would have chosen the 6" model. Hint: it's the 6 inch model you need because 4 inches of the mount must be used to secure to the deck. I´m with the same problem also Best Regards Marfi
  7. HI there, I´m from Portugal i don´t know how you work, but here the best thing you can do is to ask for a propeller for your engine, take the old one out and buy a new one in Mercury if your engine is a mercury or just take the old one to anyone who knows what to do, perhaps a mecanic, if you won´t to change the propeller for more speed give a second and just don´t do it because changing something that Monterey have been tested with the factory for your engine is a badly choice, you don´t have the Know How to make the same test they do to see if your boat really is more fast and haveing the best top rpm, don´t forget you don´t go out only strait, go to the represented off your engine just give the old one and ask for a new one exactly as the old one, here´s a tip if you go for other look for Quicksilver propeller. Best Regards Marfi

Hi, welcome a board, yes it´s a beautiful boat, i have seen him here in Portugal in Nauticampo 2009, we have a 278sc, that i hope this weekend goes to the water, the best thing i saw in your boat is the design, i think you´ll enjoy him when getting some good waves. Best Regars Marfi
  10. Hi, Here´s a site where you can take some ideas, http://www.actionweld.com/index.htm , in my opinion you should talk to Monterey boats in Denmark, because Monterey already have some wake towers to some modells Best Regards Marfi

  13. I welcome a board a have a 278sc and i recomend the norhtstar system ( old Navman), you can have the engine information ( with a cable for mpi system, the carburant system) with your radio reciving and sending from the GPS, also you have a quickly sos sending your position when conected the radio to the GPS. Navman and Northstar have the equipment with a Smartcraft software already instaled, that´s what you have 350 Mag. Try to see this link: http://www.northstarnav.com/en/Products/ I have bought a 4.3 mpi seacore engine with a bravo III for my 200cc celebrity and i have a GPS instaled to the radio, i Have all engine information on the smartcraft in the GPS Best Regards Hope usuful information

    SeaCore

Hi, i already contact the factory, here in Europe Mercury is represented by Touron, i already have the price you are talking about, is 2500 € ( almost 3500 US $), and the boat will be all year in salt water, i have a celebrity boat 220cc and i bought in August a Mercury 4.3mpi seacore with a BravoIII unit, and i love the engine, that boat is on the water as we speak, and i don´t have any problem on the engina ( a litle lie, the analogic smartcraft don´t work, but i do know that´s because i have to reprogram the engine also the Navman Chartplotter for Smartcraft engines don´t work as well), so the basic problem is i need a solution to clean my engine, and you help me a lot because i didn´t want only one opinion( by Turon) Thanks
  18. I´ve bought a 278sc boat and i´ll ride him in January, i´m very happy about it, and i´m wonder if the boat performence is really good as it seems off the water. Congratulation´s to all who design this boat, and i´ll tell you when i test it in south Portugal how good he really is in open sea.
  19. I have a monterey 278sc with a 350 Mag engine, i need to know if i can change to seacore system using the same engine (exemple a seacore kit), or there is any kit using fresh water to remove the inside salt water in the engine.
