  1. I have a new, 2020 Monterey M45 with the 250 Verado on the back. Love the boat but there is one issue with it however that I'm trying to track down. The steering is fairly heavy. Before I took it out today I checked all circuit breakers to make sure there wasn't one for the power steering pump that was thrown but didn't find anything. Took it up to Lake Wyman with all our stuff and did a bunch of new boat organizing with all the goods from our previous boat. Interestingly, when we were done for the day and fired up & pulled anchor - the power steering was working! OMG night and day difference. I could turn the wheel with one finger. So much easier. But... We made it back to Lake Boca and instead of going straight through the channel I took the long way around everyone anchored. Interestingly, as I started the turn at the corner by the A1A bridge I noticed the power steering was gone again. Really hard to turn the wheel. I have about 4 hours on the boat. Something isn't right. I've tried doing some research on Verado power steering and many of the "intermittent" issues seem to be arising from battery issues? I recall the batteries were completely discharged the day we went to see the boat before purchasing it. I believe a full discharge of a battery is never a good thing. I'm suspecting the guys who prepped it just hooked it up to the on-board charged and brought them back that way...? I'm wondering if the batteries might be problematic? Otherwise, does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks, Doug
