bug892 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 I have a 2002 190ls with tach problems. I'm trying to get the gauge out, but it's been difficult as I can't see the back of the gauges due to fiber glass panel underneath. Can someone tell me how to remove the entire dash from the front so I can easily get to the gauges? Also, the tach is stuck on 800 rpm. Digital hour meter on the gauge is working fine. Any thought? The MOST 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2011 Hello bug892, Remove the dash panel by removing the screws along the edges. Using a towel(or something like that)gently pull out on it- and rest the dash against the steering wheel using the towel to prop it up (don't let it hang or dangle by the wires). You will then see the clips that hold the gauge in place. Be careful not to burr the screwheads (that will cause them to corrode) or tighten the dash panel screws too tight when replacing it as it may crack the panel (no longer available from the vendor). You can contact Faria (the tach manufacturer) at www.faria-instruments.com or 800-473-2742 for gauge replacement or repair.
