Boating Magazine's Tech Team tests the Monterey 180 FS (4/3/2006)

Excerpts from Boating Magazine's test of the Monterey 180 FS:

"The main cockpit (one of the largest here) features a back-to-back sleeper to port and a bucket at the helm. From the driver's perspective, this is one of the few boats where the windshield is high enough to protect you from the wind. The ski locker is generous, with a cushioned mat and a hinged lid."

"Once over the hump, the boat could be throttled back and would stay on plane at difficult speeds, such as the 18-to-22mph range favored by wakeboarders. It handled the windblown chop of our test lake with ease and offered some of the best wind protection to driver and passengers."

"Open cockpit space allows family to move about without tripping over each other. Stowage nook keeps standard convertible top tucked away when not in use. Flip-up bolsters on both helm and passenger seat. Automatic bilge pump. Only manufacturer to include canvas."

"The Monterey 180 FS has one of the roomiest main cockpits, and its combination layout gives you a sleeper seat to port for those who wish to lounge."
