Battery hook up

I need assistance please.

 

I just bought a 2005 Monterey 302. It has three batteries in it.

 

When I looked at the batteries today I see a short yellow ground wire just laying there not connected to anything.

So I need to know if it belongs on two of the batteries so my parallel switch will work.

 

So here are my questions' Please note that I also have a generator.

 

1) How do I know which battery is my starting battery and which are my house batteries?

 

2) Which is my generator battery?

 

3) What two batteries get the yellow ground wire attached to each other?

 

Impossible to trace the wires as they are tubes and tied so I cant see where they each go.
