canman 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2014 I everyone , we have a 1996 montery 256 cruiser , the gas gauge is not working properly . I wanted to check the sending unit in the gas tank , my question is where is the gas tank ? on my other cruisers there was a panel in the aft cabin you lifted up and there it was . mvbrown37 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2014 Did you find out how to access the fuel tank? I have a 1998 256 Cruiser. It appears that the horizontal panel in the engine compartment in front of the engine unscrews. The fuel line comes from that area so I assume that's where the fuel tank is.
