2004 Monterey 265 CR Bad Fuel Sender

Good morning;

Last week I made a test to the fuel gauge which was not working properly and I found out it was the sender. I removed the wood cover over the fuel tank and the cables from the sender unit were there buy I could not find the sending unit itself. Is there any other cover to remove so I can reach the sending unit to change it.
