MONTEREY BOATS INTRODUCES THE NEW 245 CRUISER AT THE MIAMI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW, FEBRUARY 13-19, 2003 (2/24/2003)

Williston, FL, February 4, 2003 – Monterey Boats, the Florida-based manufacturer of a broad line of cruisers, Med-style Super Sports, sport boats and deckboats, is adding the new 245 to its Cruiser Collection. The new model will be displayed at the Miami Boat Show (Booth B59), in addition to the 322 and 282 Cruisers, the 298, 268 and 248 Bowriders, and 208 Sun Island (SI).

The Monterey 245 Cruiser is 24’6”long (27” overall with swim platform) with a roomy but trailerable 8’6” beam, and is powered by a choice of a Mercruiser 5.0L MPI or Volvo 5.0L GSI. It holds 77 gallons of fuel and 20 gallons of water.

Everything about the 245 is designed to enhance family fun on the water, from the roomy cockpit area to the foredeck sun pad, to creature comforts in the cabin usually found only on larger boats.

The cockpit area can be expanded for fishing or entertaining thanks to the completely removable transom seat. Another standard feature is the removable cockpit dining table. The port side wet bar provides access to the fresh water system and plenty of drink holders. Underneath it is a molded space for the standard 25 qt. removable ice cooler. And the integrated swim platform includes a recessed telescopic boarding ladder for convenience and safety, as well as a large wet storage and ski rope compartment.

Forward on the port side, a passenger can recline comfortably while the boat is on plane on the aft-facing chaise lounge with contoured backrest. Starboard, the double folding driver’s seat with flip up bolster allows for a comfortable ride, whether sitting or standing. Here, the premium Dino black wheel is complemented by a well-laid out wood-grain dashboard with built-in, easy-to-read instruments and gold-rimmed Faria gauges.

Made of curved safety glass, the walk-thru windshield leads the way to the foredeck where the two-person sun pad comes with grab rails on each side for added safety.

Below deck, the 245 provides comfort typically reserved only for larger craft, with a dinette that offers spacious seating and converts into a luxurious double berth. On the port side is a one-piece molded fiberglass galley built for easy cleaning. It's complete with an AC/DC refrigerator, one-burner stove, sink with faucet and spacious cabinets. The black Corian countertop adds style and convenience.

Designed with weekend getaways in mind, the mid-cabin provides 6 feet of headroom to create a feeling of open, airy space. Monterey also enhances brightness by using off-white throughout the cabin in combination with the bow mirror that reflects light from the entrance. There’s also a totally enclosed fiberglass head complete with sink, faucet, showerhead and a standard manual pump head or optional Vacu-flush head, both with holding tanks.

Engineered and constructed with only the highest quality materials, the 245 comes with Monterey’s five year transferable warranty. All Monterey owners automatically become members of M.O.S.T, the rapidly growing Monterey Owners Support Team designed to make every Monterey boating experience a pleasurable one. At the heart of M.O.S.T is “My Monterey”, the online community developed by Monterey owners throughout the world with discussion boards, marine reports, Monterey news, product support and more.
