It's a little different from mine but it looks like it's the inlet for your heat/AC. Turn your heat on and crank it up...or down for ac and you should feel / hear the pump running. The outlet should be on the starboard side just ahead of the helm. It only runs when it's actually cooling or heating.
Ok, thanks a lot!

Hi,
Im from Stockholm/ Sweden and I am new here. I bought my 2004 Monterey 282 six month ago and I am very satisfied with her.
Now to my question; I have no idea what the Inlet/outlet (please se picture) on the left is used for (at the left of the "bigger" outlet from the Septitank)?

Does any of you guys know what it is used for?
Best regards from a sunny Stockholm

Hi there!
I have a problem that maybe one of you guys have a solution for on my Monterey 282 cr.
Port side of the Volvo engine is getting warm, the mechanics (Mercruser specialist at my home harbor) has change the damaged parts (on the picture) (22&18) exept the pipe at the bottom (23)
They have started the engine and it runns as it should but still getting hot on the port side. they have also started the engine with the exhaust pipe "open" (18) (on port side) and cooling water is flowing with preassure as it should.
The mechanic has a theory that it could be something that blocking the "big" pipe (23) at the bottom of the picture (because of the water flow higher up in the pipe it should not be number (9or1)). Until today he has not been able to find anything thats blocking the pipe. He suggestion is that we should lift the engine and remove the bottom pipe (23),
