jreeb 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2016 I have a 600 Sprint Vertical windlass. It has power to it, the internal gears sound like they are spinning, but the Gypsy on top is not reacting. I took it all apart to ensure the gear teeth weren't broken. All looks good on the inside, but it will not spin the rope/chain in either direction. Any suggestions? Latty 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2016 Check the tension on the chain/rope...I accidentally pulled the anchor in too tight once and the motor doesn't have enough juice to move it in either direction. I ended up loosening the large nut on the side of the gypsy until it moved on its own. Anchor will start to release (lower) on its own. Second would be the large nut on the side of the gypsy is like a tensioner on the clutch...loosen or tighten it and see if you're able to get anywhere..
