  1. Hello Dan,

Those rocker switches were distributed by Wes-Garde Components (800-554-8866) or www.wesgarde.com. The rocker switches are probably the V series, Contura III which the panel vendor used most often on the 282 Cruiser. Those were manufactured by Carling Technologies (www.carlingtech.com) or 860-793-9281 which were sold through Wes- Garde Components.

  2. Hi,

i have a 194fs and have purchased an after-market wake tower to install. As a consequence i need to remove some of the interior panels to get to the inside of the boat. The panel with the speaker and cup holders seems to be the right one but how do i safely remove it ? any advice is much appreciated.

    thanks

    Gavin

    Hello Gavin,

At the bottom edge of the coaming panels you will see screws- remove those and then gently pull straight upward on the entire piece. It is held in place with "J" hooks which allow the panel to slide on and off.

  3. I bought a '09 with a bow ladder, excited for the kids to play off the front of the boat while the adults enjoyed their time. So I sent the kids off the front of the boat but they couldn't reach the ladder to get back up, the ladder only extended half way to the water. The ladder also rests on the chrome side gaurd so when you apply pressure to the ladder it dents the chrome. I'm confused. Anyone have an answer?

    Thanks,

    Steve (Seattle)

    Hello Steve,

The forward ladder is designed for boarding from the beach or sand bar. Make certain that the side supports are pulled all the way out before extending the ladder downward.

  4. Hello Oban,

Your best source of help is most likely the engine manufacturer: www.volvopenta.com (for your nearest authorized service center) or 757-436-5100 (in VA). The Volvo technician will be able to hook up your engine to his computer and read any error codes. That is also a good way to give the engine a preventative maintenance "check up".

Just in case- your gauges are manufactured by Faria and they do have a limited lifetime warranty. Contact info for warranty and trouble shooting is:

    www.faria-instruments.com or 1-800-473-2742 (CT).

  5. Hello Greg,

The ski locker should be draining into the bilge.

Have you had the boat since 1997? Has work been done on it lately? Has the boat been sitting-if so, there could be a mud-dobber's nest or similar insect's nest in the drain's path.

When you say, "I've tried running a fish tape up the drain pipe that runs into the bilge without success". Do you mean the tape gets stopped by something?

  6. Hello Andy208,

You can purchase new MONTEREY logos from any authorized Monterey dealer. You can see the logos at our home page under the Sport Boat Collection. Graphics removal is normally done with a specific type of heat gun (we recommend you use a professional graphics installer) and there is usually very little adhesive residue left when properly removed. If there is any, denatured alcohol will clean it up.

  7. Hello Bob,

Unfortunately, the original vinyl material is no longer available from the manufacturer. Also, the exact color information is not available in our system, we must purge parts information about every ten years or so in order to obtain space.

If your upholsterer cannot match the color visually, then perhaps go with a two color piece or a complementing color to your canvas(?).

  8. Hello m_cogs,

The waste pump out for the head was an option on the 2002 248LS and it is designed to be pumped out at a waste "dump" facility. Most marinas offer this service as well as RV/Motorhome/camping parks.

Grey water such as the sink and shower goes directly overboard unless you have a "greywater system" installed.

There is an automatic float switch on the bilge pump. To manually operate it, turn on the accessory switch on the dash and then the bilge switch on the dash.

  9. Hello ms-200LS,

After much research- That was a Taylor Made part and I am not certain if they still make it in the plastic. I found a stainless steel one that looks really close and it is part #13008 ROUND HEAD SIDE MOUNT. you might have to change out both sides to get a match.

Your best bet would be to contact their Customer Service, Technical help at 518-773-0636. I am certain if you send them the photo it will solve your problem.

  10. Hello awood147,

The factory installed air conditioner was a Marine Air product and the part number was: #VCD5K115V 115V AIR CONDITIONER (DOMESTIC use part #).

    For tech support:

    Dometic Corporation, Environmental Division

    2000 N. Andrews Ave. Ext.

    Pompano Beach, FL 33069

    Phone: 954-973-2477 on line: www.dometic.com

It might be something as simple as the pump needing to be primed but the clicking noise sounds like there could be something wrong.

  12. Hello Savarese1,

The nav lite is a Perko product, part #227 BI-COLOR...www.perko.com on line. The instructions were on their site under Technical:

To Re-Bulb: Remove two mounting screws and lift light off deck. While upsidedown,

use a small bladed screwdriver (in either of the two slots) to pry out the bulb

holder. Replace bulb and snap back into place. Re-mount light.

    I hope this helps!

  13. Hello Mike,

Contact the manufacturer direct for tech help, Corsa Performance Exhaust (Quick and Quiet) contact info: www.corsaperf.com or 800.486.0999 in Ohio. There is alot of information on their site also.

You might be able to manually shut it off at the exhaust solenoids- each one is independent and there are 2 on each engine. The exhaust normally defaults to the closed position when the disconnection occurs....but if it was not factory installed I can't be sure.

It would be best to seek the advice of a Corsa tech direct.
