We traded in our 2008 Chaparral Xtreme for this 2006 Monterey 270. Got it at the end of last season. So needless to say, we can't wait for spring!

Just got my 2006 Monterey 270. Now that she's outta the water and on trailer I noticed a black plastic cover on the bow right below the anchor locker. On the hull. I removed the 6 screws thinking it was an access panel for something.....NOPE, nothing. Why is it there? Totally confused, is this where you install a forward firing pirate cannon?

I just purchased a 2006 Monterey 270 CR and want to install a windlass, or should I say the WIFE demands I install a windlass. I'd like to see pictures of one already installed either factory or owner installed. Not sure if it should go on the deck or in the anchor locker. Thanks in advance. My email is hpdsgt49@yahoo.com Rod
