  1. New to Monterey, bought a 194FS just before Xmas. Only 17 Hrs on the clock ... almost mint condition. Looking forward to getting out and having a good season. Any Monterey owners in Wales want to come & join me happy to meet up.
  2. I want to fit a set of SeaDek non slip pads onto my 194fs ... SeaDek has teh Swim Platfrom templates, but I wouldl iek to get the full set ... i.e as per this pic ... http://www.seadek.com/blog/?p=1268 I know that is not a 194fs but layout is the same. Anydody know if Monterey will supply the template files ? .... or anybody have a set ?
  3. Thinking of getting a Monster MTK tower fitted .... the reverse angle seems to look so much better than the usual Tower strut clutter around the screen, I have seen one on a 224 FS and it looked great ... If anyone has one on a 194/204FS care to share a pic .... so I can figure out where to put this.
  4. I made a few ‘question’ posts, as I was making my mind up what to buy – Monterrey was one of the options (never having owned one) I am in the Great Britain and getting a Monterey is not so easy – the dealer closed down over a year ago, but I found a nice model in Northern Ireland. A 194fs (now called a 204fs) 2010 model … been laid up in dry storage for over a year … and best part only 5Hrs on the engine. It’s a 4.3L MPI and fitted with a 20” 4 blade prop. I plan to put a Tower on it, more than likely a Monster MTk. It will be used for wake-boarding, knee-boarding & water-skiing and particularly for me Hydrofoiling..... I love my SkySki.
  5. cleaned up typo in original post .... > Plus an update - I went took a test on a 194fs and bought that.
  6. I am totally new to Monterey ... picked my boat up in Nov, and only 2 test runs .. so far It is a 194fs (now named 204fs) with 4.3L MPI ... with just 5 Hrs on ths clock. My use will be for recreational towed watersports ..... so not after top end speed, acceleration, and mid range performance more important. I usually fit a Stainless Steel prop ... High Five on last boat. There is currently a 4 blade aluminium 20" pitch. fitted by dealer .... the manual states that 19" is the standard pitch for this hull. If I do decide to get a Stainless 4 blade ..... any comments on whether I should go down a size or stick with 20" pitch.? I tried using Mercury Prop selector tool ... but when I enter weight of boat it advises weight of boat & engine combination outside limits of tool. (bit worrying)
  7. Drive Ser No. is 1A241445 so wasn't sure how that fitted in with your letters above However it did finally got me to the answer .... it's a 1.62
  8. I just bought a 194 fs ... and a barnd new set of carpets. However there are no fitted 'studs' either in deck or on the carpets. 2 questions ... # Anybody fitted these ... any tips ? # Where can I get the deck & carpet fixings .... in stainless ? # Do I need any special fitting tool ?
  9. Can anybody advise what the Alpha Drive ration is on a 2010 194fs The engine is 4.3MPI Mercury Help with my quest to identify correct prop ..... it could be 1.47, 1.62 or 1.81
  10. Boat has standard Aluminum prop ..... What Stainless Steel prop do you guys reccoemend ? On last boat I fited a Mercury High 5. gave good hole shot ........... any advice on prop type & pitch appreciated.
  11. Hi ... this is my first post so Hello. I’m not new to boating, 30+ yrs of being an owner .. just sold my current boat, and looking for replacement but am new to Monterey. I use my boat for in-shore towed sports - wakeboarding, kneeboard & SkySki .... all recreational only ... and had been looking at a few suitable contenders, when someone mentioned I should take a look at Monterey. I had heard the name, but have never seen one of these on the water. Partly due to fact that I am in the UK, and the sole dealer in Britain went bankrupt, there is a dealer in Ireland. I was put in touch with a guy who has a four year old 214FS ... and did a 350 mile round trip to go take a spin out on the water with him. I liked the build quality ... seemed fine, and the boat apart from a little sluggishness to get underway was fine on plane. (5.0L with 200 Hrs) I have an option to buy that from him. Maybe a bit too big & heavy for my needs of a trailer boat. However also have an option for only 10% more on a 12month old 194FS only done 5Hrs on engine .... now in current model range renamed as 204FS. However this is a 4.3 MPI ........... Anybody have experience on how the 194FS performs with the 4.3L ? ......... I don’t need top end speed, but does have to have reasonable hole shot. I also have a good deal offer on a new 184FS .. but concerned about lack of cockpit space ... it has bench seat fitted rather than jump seat
