  1. Just installed two new fuel pumps last week. Both the port and starboard engines start really well, now. Before, I had issues with both the port and starboard engines starting intermittently. Sometimes I would go down to the marina and both engines would start or maybe one would and the other would not. Mostly it was the starboard engine but sometimes it was the port engine. It would take trying to start it 10 or 12 times or waiting 15 minutes to get it to start. Other times it would start right up. I ran ethanol stabilizer through the gas tank. This is a 2004 302 CR with twin 5.0 gxi's with about 500 hours on the engines. I bought two pumps from Amazon. (New For Volvo Penta Electric Fuel Pump Assembly 21608511 21545138 4.3L 5.0L 5.7L ) for $186. I figured I could buy 2 or 3 of them for the cost of a new VP fuel pump. Or I might get lucky and not have to worry about the aftermarket fuel pumps. Also, the reviews on this model were good. So I will keep you updated if I have issues.
  2. Do you have trim tabs? It looks like it is a factory installed rocker switches for that purpose. For some reason with trim tabs, maybe installed after the boat was purchased, they install the aftermarket switches for the trim tab. Just a guess.
  3. I used this in the google search string. fault codes mid 120, Psid 90 , fmi 4 volvo penta 5.7 Try, this PDF. http://engine-manual.com/en/index.php?controller=attachment&id_attachment=224 It was the three result in the search results. Hope it helps.
  4. If anyone gets a HPF error code on their A/C unit and the sea strainer is clear, try priming the pump. I recently had my boat pulled to get the throttle cable fixed and lost prime on the A/C unit which cause a HPF error on my A/C unit. This is a Marine Air System. On the dock I used the water hose and went to the water discharge thru hull and sprayed water into the thru hole for a minute. Went back to inside of the boat, turned the A/C unit and viola. I hope this helps someone.
  5. Greeting Monterey boaters. I just purchased a 2004 Monterey 302 CR, with 5.0 Volvo's. We moved up from a Four Winns 286 Vista. This boat has ton's more storage space and room. I am sure we are going to enjoy it this Summer and the Monterey.
