  1. I  cannot comment on your balancer and crank pully if it is different.

I had to break out the long straight edge and start lining up the pulleys. I found that the large bracket for the power steering needed to be shimmed with washers at the very bottom to get the the angle right. I found that the pully were more radially relative to each other than in or out (depth to the front of the engine) from the crank pulley.

After shimming the mounting bracket there is considerably less black rubber dust and zero squeaking.

  2. If you have the Simpson Larwence sprint 600 as I did on my 2004 298SC there is no solenoid. it has a circuit breaker by your shins at the helm and runs off the windlass switch.

there is internal parts in the windlass that break and cause the problem, besides just being worn out and old. You can take it apart and fix it but it will break again soon  and will be week. I did this and it ended up being a waste of time even though I did get it to work.

If you install a larger windlass you need a solenoid and bigger cable. the bigger cable may be installed in the anchor locker already but good luck finding the other end. (  could never locate it) A larger windlass will also require a heavier chain and rhode.

I installed a new Lewmar 700 windlass as a direct replacement and it works great and is stronger. Make VERY water tight wire connections in the anchor locker.

  3. My step down well into the cabin drain is clogged.

I have tried to clear with both compressed air and the garden hose. I even put a fish tape down it and it stops just after the hose disappears behind the bulkhead at the rear of the shower/Forward bilge well.

Can anyone or MOST tell me where this hose routes to? Or how to access it? Its under the main deck floor.

Does it rout the the engine compartment? where can I find the other end? It is completely sealed so it appears it is being pinched by something.
