I have a well used 1997 256 Cruiser. Recently replaced the Alternator but since have had nothing but trouble. Belt seams to be slipping and we go through a new belt every tim we ar out. Maybe need to replace pulley? pulley looks rusty and no paint on it while other v belt pulleys are clean and well painted. Anyone know where I can get a new pulley? Part #?

Check the tension on your alternator belt. I found the tach signal is sent from alternator on my 256 cruiser and when belt slips I get jumpy Tach and Volt meter readings.
