The MOST 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2007 Monterey 290 CR on the cover of the March, 2006 issue of Boaters Digest (3/30/2006) Excerpts from Boaters Digest's feature story of the 290 CR: "Monterey's 290 fits, literally, smack in the middle of the company's big boat lineup. Setting this apart from some other mid-size boats of this category is the 290's beam. Monterey made no concession to trailering, thankfully, and provides the erstwhile owner with a full 10 feet of beam, something that puts the 290 into a category that boats this size rarely strive for, since manufacturers seem to prefer inserting a must-be-trailerable parameter when designing at this size. Monterey didn't and the result is a seaworthy 29 footer with lots of room." "Plenty of luxury touches below, an almost perfectly designed helm station (somebody actually put some thought into this one; there is plenty of room for electronics where you can actually see them)and a lot of very nice standard features."
