Bilge Pump not working on automatic

Hi,

 

I have a 2005 302 and the bilge pump doesn't work on automatic it only works if I manually run it. Does anybody knows what to do?

It sounds like your automatic float switch is not working (it is the square white box beside the bilge pump). You can test that by turning the knob on the side of it back and forth. You will hear the pump kick on if the switch is good.

 

It is a good idea to change those out every few years anyway...

My bilge pump stopped working in automatic and I found out that the wires had been mounted where minimal bolge water caused corrosion and stopped the pump from working. I just had the pump re-wired and moved the wiring harness up higher and all is well.
