MKEBoater 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2022 Hello group. I'm looking at upgrading to a newer 298 SS this year (2017 or newer). First, wanted to see if there are any owners in the group and get their thoughts on the boat in general? Any major changes over the last few years that I should be aware about? Second, I'm looking at a couple 2017 and 2018's which have dual inboards. However the new models have a single inboard. My logical brain says 1 engine is better as it's half as much maintenance and has half as many parts that can break. Any opinions on that? Any insight on why Monterey made that switch? For reference, this is one I really like!
