Thaknks for the reply, fillter and all is clean, I clean perioically, the problem seems to be the compresor, It will not start or engauge. Someone had told me it is a complete unit, and would need entire replacement, your reply bring some relief.

Good morning!!! I have a question for the experts, I have a 262 (2001) are the A/C units on these sealed? Can they be serviced? My problem is yesterday morning it was working fine, really cool went out for a spin when we got back to shore power it would not blow cold air, it seemed like it was only the fan working. I appretiate all your help?

Hi, I did found 2 options: Uflex B184MERC & Telflex CH1751P. Leaning toward the Uflex. eight, it is broken I already had a mechanic fix it once, now is really broken, I did use the boat this weekend but, dont want to wait until is fully gone. I will get pics by weeks end.

Hello, I seemed to have broken my Mercruiser control (shifter) on my Monterey 262 (2001) Is there a replacement OEM part number for this, or any universal control Quicksilver, Uflex, Teleflex will fit? Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hello everyone, I have a dumb question here. I have a 2001 Monterey 262, an the thru hulls on the back of the boat are gone, really bad shape. It is the small ones that come from the bilge cover or lid (engine bay cover) Where can I get the right size so I can order on line? Thanks in advance

Kirk congrats on your new Monterey, I have a K1, 262 also and I love my boat. Mine does not have the wetbar cooler any more, we took the entire thing out and discard and made a nice door with hinges and lock for it. Works great lots of room for the Magma grill, and a bucket with rope and extra anchor. Enjoy!

Heelo, I just wanted to share, Ive had my 262 since March 2012, and since I had to replace the Engine coupler, soon after I started having some trouble and since had been considering another coupler replacement. even having this problem Ive had nothing bad to say about Monterey or my 262. Anyways, after cleaning the entire hull (REALLY GOOD) last weekend and really reading and comprehending the trimming process, finally my boat is performing awsome, and realized that the only damaged coupler, was the tool behind the steering wheel. GREAT BOAT!!!! Just wanted to share

Thank you very much for the replys, you got me on the engine flusher, do you mean to flush the engine like with the ear muffs ? Impeler is sure to come as well as the anodes (zinc) and thanks all for the imput on 100% syntetic

Hello everyone, is that time of the year for me, I need to take my 262 out of the water and service. Below is my list of to do's, if you have any more suggestions please post theme here they are more than welcome. A little info: Boat is a 2001, keept in sea water year round last tune up less than 40 hrs & a year ago, sterndrive was removed to replace the coupler in July and it was redone with grease, belows, seals etc. List: 1- Antifauling paint for the bottom and sterndrive 2- Oil & filter replacement 3- Sparkplugs 4- Coupler (maybe) the boat is again not pushing, engine might have not been properly aling. 5- sterndrive & prop service 6- 7- More to come. Afternoon I have a 2001 Monterey 262 and a few weeks ago the transom shower was working just fine suddentlly there is no presure. Every other faucet and the cabin shower work fine nice water pressure. Im I missing something here, is this shower using another braker swith that Im missing or a diferent pump? Thanks in advance for all your help and advice.
