PDitheridge 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2011 I need to replace the original prop on my 200 LS. I'm thinking about replacing the aluminum prop with stainless steel. Does anybody have any recommendations on size, type (brand) etc?
Rip5 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2011 What is the diameter and pitch of the 3-blade prop you have? What is the engine, sterndrive and horespower of your power package ?
PDitheridge 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2011 What is the diameter and pitch of the 3-blade prop you have? What is the engine, sterndrive and horespower of your power package ? Unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea of the pitch or diameter as pretty much all markings have worn off the prop and lower unit (not sure where else I can get this info) The engine is a Mercruiser 4.3L EFI V6. 220 hp. Alpha One lower unit Thanks
Rip5 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2011 With that engine and drive, I'm 90% sure the stock prop would be a 14.5" x 19 3 blade. If your RPM were within the manufacturer's recommended range with your current prop, you should be fine with an OEM replacement. A replacement for that size is a Michigan Wheel Vortex High Performance 3 blade prop # 992004. Or an OEM replacement Michigan Match 3 blade prop # 031065. RBrown 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2020 I have the same boat with a 5.0 Volvo Penta. Mine has a 14.5” 19 pitch Stainless Steel Solas prop. It comes out of the hole quickly and has a top speed of 52 mph at around 5k rpm.
