CannonBall 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2021 My step down well into the cabin drain is clogged. I have tried to clear with both compressed air and the garden hose. I even put a fish tape down it and it stops just after the hose disappears behind the bulkhead at the rear of the shower/Forward bilge well. Can anyone or MOST tell me where this hose routes to? Or how to access it? Its under the main deck floor. Does it rout the the engine compartment? where can I find the other end? It is completely sealed so it appears it is being pinched by something. HighwayPatrol 0 Report post Posted July 28 Hey CannonBall. I have a 2005 298 SS (bowrider) that has an enclosed head on the starboard side of the boat with a "step down well" when you step into the enclosed head. There is a drain in the floor for water from the shower. I employed all three of your methods to clear the drain without any success. I even used a shop-vac to try and suck out any debris that might be lodged in the hose and or pipe. No luck, it is still clogged. Did you ever come up with a solution to clear that line? I am wondering if there is a ball-cock valve installed somewhere that is closed? Thanks for taking the time to read my inquiry. Looking forward to your reply. Regards, Jim C. CannonBall 0 Report post Posted August 12 Jim: I have not been able to find or clear the drain hose. My latest theory is that the hose passed through the fuel tank cavity and the fuel tank may have moved and pinched it. So i disconnected the hose at the step down through hull drain and allow the water to drain into the FWD Bilge/ head sump compartment. The New fwd bilge pump I installed pumps the water out. the area gets mostly soapy wash water when cleaning the deck and that seems to keep the fwd bilge area clean. I cannot add a through hull as I would not have any access to the inside of the hull to connect a hose to the through hull. Seams to be working well so far.
