beau 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2008 Hello, I have a 1999 Monterey 262 The plastic hinge the connects the hatch to the boat has disintegrated! I asked my local dealer to order the hinge and they said it was not available. Do you have any thoughts? Thank you so much. -B P.S. To other owners of similar boats, I highly recommend you keep the canvas cover over your forward hatch(s) to prolong this problem as long as possible. Our boat had the cover on for 9 years. 1 year in the sun and now the hinge has failed.
The MOST 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2008 Hello Beau, That hatch is a NIBO N1139-10H-7W and is a 20" round. The distributor is Bomar Pompanette Inc. (603-826-5791) and their web address is www.pompanette.com. We do not have a separate number for the hinge only as we purchased them completely assembled in bulk. Plexi, plastics and polymers have come a long way in 9 years as far as durability. You might want to think about replacing the whole hatch with a new improved one. They are expensive...however, as the old saying goes "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".
