  2. Hello Dale and Arda, That is alot of boat for a first boat! Here are some answers to your questions but you can give Monterey Customer Service a call at 352-529-9181 and ask for tech help. Engine manual can be obtained from: www.mercurymarine.com or 405-743-6566 in Oklahoma. This boat has a circuit breaker panel with a breaker for a generator and the engine compartment has a place for a generator but there's no generator and we'd like to add one but don't know what kind, size etc. to purchase. ****Monterey did not offer a generator for the 262 Cruiser as an option and it is not recommended that you install one. We have an onboard air/heating unit but need to know the amps it pulls and what size inverter we need to install if we can't find a generator. ******The factory installed air conditioner was a Marine Air 5000 BTU (cold only- no heat) and the part number was CML5KC-115V. What the unit pulls for amperage I am not exactly sure of but the breaker was a 15 amp. If the unit in your boat has a heat cycle then it is not factory installed. Also-We did not install inverters on the 262 Cruiser. It would be good idea to take a seamanship course or join a boating club in your area. Not only is it educational but it is fun to meet and boat with others.
  3. Hello Dakotas Dream, To obtain specifications for the engine, contact Mercury direct for an owner's manual (you need one anyway). The contact info is as follows: www.mercurymarine.com or 405-743-6566 in Oklahoma. The RPM limits will be in the manual as well as maintenance schedules. Optimum cruise speed will vary a bit as the boat/engine ages but also the type of water, load on the boat, conditions of water and wind, etc. The 3400 rpm sounds about right. You are the best judge of the best fuel burn use. It is also a good idea to have a GPS and have a record your trips- there are some very inexpensive handhelds out there these days that are great which can give you an accurate reading on speed as well. The speedometer going in and out is common (it operates by water pressure from a small tubular hose that runs from the transom) and there could be debris clogging it up.
  4. The 190 that the NADA lists for 1994 is the SCR model. It was in production for three years and was one of the very few boats Monterey ever built that was offered with an outboard option. Specs are as follows: LOA.....19' 2" Beam.....8' Draft Up....20" Down....37" Fuel Capacity is 26 gallons Dry Weight.....2700 pounds Max hp....180 22 Degree Deadrise I hope this helps.
  5. The 200 Edge was built for a limited production time of only two years. It was quite simply a marketing decision. Specs are as follows: LOA.........20' 4" Beam....... 8' 2" Draft Up...20" Down...36" Fuel Capacity...39 gallons Dry Weight...... 2900 pounds Max hp............ 260 22 degree deadrise It is a good looking boat- glad you are having fun!
  6. Try giving Marine Air a call at 954-973-2477 (in Florida) and ask for tech help. They are pretty good at Customer Service and excellent at trouble shooting. Also, the manual can be downloaded from the Product Support Section on this site.
  7. The original throttle/shift control in the 2001 262 Cruiser equipped with a Volvo Penta engine was gray in color (yours must have been a retro fit or personal change) and the part number was CONTROL-3857787-0- SIDE MOUNT W/EMG SHUT OFF. Let us know how it all works out...
  8. Here are the shipping dimensions for the 290 Cruiser. You will have to add in the height of the keel to the ground from your personal trailer. Shipping_Dimensions_CE__290CR__Rev_3.pdf

  23. Congratulations Jerome! The 415 Sport Yacht has a beautiful layout. Fuel consumption varies depending on many factors and results can differ. Here is data from one performance test: Boat Model 400SY Engine Model: TWIN VOLVO IPS 500 Boat Length 41' - 0" Engine HP (each): 370 Boat Beam 12' - 6" Engine Max RPM: 3500 Date Tested 21-Apr-08 Drive Model: IPS Gear Ratio: 1.94 Prop: T5 Speed, MPH RPM MPG Range Helm dBA Cruise Speed 34.7 3200 1.10 386 82 Top Speed 41.4 3640 0.99 295 84 RPM - MPH - MPG - GPH 600 - 4.6 - 5.5 - 0.82 1000 - 7.1 - 4.1 - 1.74 1500 - 9.5 - 1.9 - 4.96 2000 - 12.1 - 0.9 - 13.16 2200 - 15.6 - 1.0 - 15.08 2400 - 19.3 - 1.0 - 18.62 2600 - 23.1 - 1.1 - 20.10 2800 - 27.9 - 1.3 - 21.40 3000 - 31.1 - 1.3 - 24.50 3200 - 34.7 - 1.3 - 26.76 3400 - 38.0 - 1.3 - 29.82 3635 - 41.4 - 1.0 - 41.70 Notes: These test results are only valid for the boat listed by the hull ID#, at the time, date and place of the test. Testing variables include but are not limited to weather, prop, hull, and water condition, installation of various options, and captains. Speed was measured by GPS. Testing performed on fresh water near sealevel. Range is based on 90% of fuel tank capacity. I have also attached a February "Boating Magazine" article with performance data for you to review. 400_415_SY.pdf
  24. I have 2 questions: (1) Do the benefits of running stainless props outweight the cons & cost, and (2) if I did upgraded, which stainless prop set should I get? Thanks in advance for any replies. You have had the aluminum for 13 years without too much maintenance and great performance (52 mph!). Replace the props with the same??? As for the second question, we do not have any performance tests or data to advise you on this choice.
