I have a 2001 262. My horn died two years ago. I hate to say it put you almost need to be a contortionist to get to it. I decided to let it go and just purchased a small air horn. The air horn is also much louder. Good luck on replacing it.

I have the same problem with one of my hatch arms on my 2001 262 CR. As soon as the weather breaks I will give your solution a try.

I have a 262 CR with a similar issue. The unit will cool the cabin for serveral hours and then it will shutdown with a "HPS" fault. We too have checked everything. I think we might have a bad "High Pressure Cut-out" switch. I plan on replacing it in 2010 and will let you know it that works.

I have been told that this size boat has a "tender" hull. I have been working wiyh it for a while and like you said, it's going to roll some. One thing that I found has helped is if I first trim the outdrive to level things out and then treak the trim tabs it works better.

2000 262 Monterey 5.7 Merc - Water Temperature
RayBob III replied to snosptz's topic in Technical Discussion
I have a 2001 262 Cruiser with a 7.4 Liter & Bravo III and my normal running temp is ~175 degrees F. -
Midwest, You are right about the power. We really didn't get a lot of use before we put it up for the winter. Driving with just the top up wasn't to bad, but with the full canvas on it and 6 people, it seemed to want to roll from one side to the other. We will soon be back out on it and will let you know if it gets any better. Thanks.

It has 7.4 liter Mercruiser, with the Bravo 3 outdrive with stainless steel duo-props. This boat runs really fast, ~40 MPH but I seem to have some trim tab control issues at high speed.

I recently purchased a 2001 Monterey 262 cruiser. Does anyone have any comments about its performance. I am recently just starting to operate it.
