pscobee 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2015 I'd like to replace my anchor with a shiny stainless one and would like recommendations. I've seen several new designs rocna etc that all look interesting, but I also need to fit this into the 264 bow locker. And what about a second anchor for keeping the boat at anchor in a cove. Any recommendations? Thanks for the advice. PS lake is still frozen here in NJ 😒
Rip5 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2015 I would save your money. a shiney anchor (SS) is hugely expensive, heavy, and holds no better than aluminum. Besides, the 18 seconds of time it takes you to pull out the anchor, toss it in, and set it, know one will be able to see how pretty it is when on the bottom of the lake. Stern anchor, same Danforth style aluminum as the bow anchor, but can be slightly smaller.
Ogre 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2016 I bought one of these last summer after our normal danforth fell in love with what I assume was a tree stump. Works great so far. It doesn't have the rods to sit in the anchor locker like the old one, but I was able to righ a couple of ropes to the bow ladder in the locker that keeps it suspended, so no clanking around.http://www.diggeranchor.com/Freshwater_Digger_Anchor.html
