I'll make my decision sometimes in early spring. Looking at their WEB site and reviewing the installation instructions, it doesn't really look that bad. I'll keep everyone posted.

OK thanx...SideShift makes a pretty neat bow thruster that is externally mounted. I might give that a try.

It is often very windy where I slip my boat and was thinking that a BOW thruster would make it much easier to dock. I'm pretty handy so installing it myself would not be a problem. I do have a couple of questions though 1) Is there room on the 282CR to install one? 2) Would access be via the storage compartment in the V-Berth? 3) What size would be best....5 1/2" I.D. with 92lbs thrust or 7 1/4" with 128lbs of thrust? Thank you in advance for the info. Dan

On my old 250cr, the aft bed was real close to a queen size. I've looked at the 270 and I'm pretty sure it's the same. In either case, you should be able to easily sleep 2 adults.

It's a different key....you'll have to go to a dealer and get one for the door.

Here's what we named our 282CR

The blue hull was very nice...we'll probably miss that but we're extreamly happy with the rest of the boat. So much more room compared to our old 250. I'll keep my eyes open also...we occaisionally go in the point sebago cove. I have a friend that stays there.

It may pull from the freshwater. Whether it does or not, the Jabsco toilets are known for the seals in the pump to give out. You may have to order a seal kit from your dealer. In the 3 years that I owned my 250CR, I've had to replace the seals twice. A few folks at the marina have also had to replace theirs.

So that was the old....here is our new boat...2006 282CR

I know that you can used a mixture of bleach and water but not sure of the mixture ratio. Look in your manual, it should tell you. I'll check mine this weekend and let you know what it is.

Here's a review of the 400 SY. Seeing as you've already purchased it it may not matter but I thought I'd share. 400SY Review

Justin, first things first...yThe 250CR is an awesome boat. You'll be very happy with it. I will tell you though, your going to pay more for a Monterey but it is definitely a higher quality boat however, I think the Bayliner offers a bit more room down in the cabin. I just traded my 2005 in for a bigger boat so if your interested in looking at a used one, I'll give you my Monterey Dealer's name up here in Southern Maine. You won't be sorry for picking the 250CR.

Thank you for the information. The one I'm looking at is Merc powered with Brave III's. I'm sure it's very compatible with the Volvo. What is the top end of your boat? Any idea on fuel efficiency? "It looks like boatinglife.com has an archieve review on it. It cost a couple of bucks, but they give good reviews."...I checked there and could not find any reviews. Just a small one paragraph article about it.

Paul, what are the specifics on your 282? Thinking of getting a new leftover 2006 with twin 5.0's and am wondering how well it goes!
-
Here is our 250CR. We boat in the Sebago Lake area in Maine. I'm currently selling to upgrade to a left over 2006 282.
-
You mean to tell me knowbody has any info on this boat?
-
M.O.S.T. Would you have a data sheet on this configuration that shows RPM's, MPH's and GPH?

Thinking of upgrading my 2005 250CR to a new leftover 2006 282. Yes that's right, NEW leftover 2006!!! This boat is loaded to the gills, has twin 5.0 Bravo III's on it. Can anyone out there who has one answer these Q's? What is the top end? At cruise any idea on fuel usage..GPH? Overall impression of the boat? I have not physically been in the boat yet....just seen pictures and it looks pretty nice. Appears it would be a nice upgrade. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
