sprint406 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2011 I have a 2003 265CR and the power steering feels hard. I would think it should be more like a car feel since its the same technology. Is it common for the steering to feel hard? I have checked the fluid and it is fine.
The MOST 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 Hello Sprint406, The primary system on your boat are steering cables back to the drive unit. There is a power steering pump from the engine to an actuator which assists your steering. It is the typical steering system used in your size of Cruiser. If it feels excessively difficult to maneuver, have your dealer or marine technician check them for you. Over time (and as a part of preventative maintenance) the steering cables may need lubrication or adjustment. I hope this helps.
