  1. Hello Cruiser242, That 12" stainless steel grab handle is part #GRAB-12-7870S-001 and is a Whitewater Marine Hardware product: 727-572-8871 in Florida.
  2. Contact info is www.faria-instruments.com or 800-473-2742 for their Warranty Dept.
  3. Hello, The 282 Crusier is easy to love.... The part numbers for the fills (complete part w/cap) is: FILL-GAS-66406-S/S 2 EA GAS FILL POLISHED S/S Attwood Marine, www.attwoodmarine.com or 616-897-9241 in Michigan. FILL-WAT-66408-1-W 1 EA WATERT FILL POLISHED S/S (same as above) FILL-WAS-612600003 1 EA WASTE FILL POLISHED S/S Whitewater Marine Hardware (727) 572-8871 in Florida. We have a great dealership in the Central Florida (Longwood) area and they do stock some of the Cruisers. You will have to contact them for their current inventory or a specific model you are interested in. Contact info is: www.bmcboats.com or 888-437-1274. We do give factory tours by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays (call 352-529-9161 ext 216 for Sue Koehler). We do not have a factory showroom but we do have lots of boats going down the production line! Usually there is no problem seeing the new model line up in various stages of build.
  4. The drive trim issue could just be the sensor and you will know by having that fixed first if it is related to the gauge sticking...you should check with a Mercury or Volvo Penta certified tech on both of your problems. You will need to purchase the parts from them as well. Contact info is www.mercurymarine.com / 405-743-6566 in Oklahoma or www.volvopenta.com / 757-436-5100 in Virginia. The gauge is a Faria product, www.faria-instruments.com or 800-473-2742 in Connecticut.
  5. Hello HaeWoon, The 256 Cruiser is a great boat. Unfortunately, the canvas is no longer available from the vendor. Most boat owners have success with local canvas shops or subcontractors recommended by their dealer or marina. I hope this helps.
  6. Hello Jake, There is the First Coast Cruise Club in the Jacksonville area...they have alot of fun!! The web site is firstcoastcruiseclub@yahoogroups.com. They post a calendar of events there.
  7. Hello taradavid, You can order a Bimini boot through your nearest Monterey dealer. To find the one closest to you go to the home page, www.montereyboats.com; click on North America and then you will see the dealer locator icon in the bottom right hand corner. There is not a specific part number for the boot itself, the dealer will need your hull ID though (it begins with the letters "RGF").
  8. Hello Snowdog, The cockpit carpet is still available (delivery is about 3 weeks out right now) and the part number is: CRPT-208SI-STER 1 EA STERLING COCKPIT CARPET. It can be ordered through your Monterey dealer.
  9. Hello Plucky, The beautiful 270 Cruiser is being replaced with the new beautiful 280 Cruiser (quite simply as a marketing decision) and has been very popular. The cockpit refrigerator is optional...so you can still have the storage space if you like. The adjustable stern seat works great for those who enjoy reclining while they sun worship or just for a nap. Traditional dunnage seating is also available. If you get to any of the boat shows this winter, check it out! 280_Product_Launch.pdf
  10. Hello Munsters, It is probably due to the torque of the prop/drive combination and the power of the MPI engine. Here at the factory the standard prop on the 5.0MPI with an Alpha drive (1.62 gear ratio for sea level boating) was a 19 pitch aluminum. That was the Mercury recommendation for optimum cruising and not specifically for watersports. We have no performance test data with the prop you now have on the boat. If the vibration continues have it checked out by a certified Mercury tech.
  11. Hello Skipper H, The extended swim platform is no longer available from the factory (the mold quite simply wore out). Perhaps if you contact swimplatforms.com with your suggestion they might accommodate your request. As for the anchor locker drain being stapled shut, that is a mystery. It might have been done by a previous owner not realizing the purpose of the opening. Good suggestion on the sink faucet retro fit (the selections of marine hardware were a bit more limited in 1998)!
  12. 298_318_CANVAS_ENCL.doc A traditional camper canvas was/is not offered as a factory option. Side and aft curtains are available and do fully enclose the boat (see attached photo) and are available from your Monterey dealer. Delivery time is about three weeks out right now!
  13. Hello Matt, That is the transducer for the depth finder. It is installed in that location on all of the sportboat hulls as that is the best place to have very little interference under the water (air bubbles from other pick ups, near a chine, etc.). It also acheives the proper angle for the cone shaped signal it puts out. It is impossible to pick the perfect location of the transducer for all makes and models of trailers as they vary greatly in style and structure. When you get time, give your dealer a call- as that needs to be replaced.
  14. Hello Ken, That light is part #60302010-00-LITE and is a 12V flush mount (vendor code is 093900112V). It is distributed by Perko Industries: 305-621-7525 in Miami or www.perko.com.
  15. Hello Full Monty, Since the boat is a 2002 and you have never had anything like this issue before...it sounds like a wiring problem. Something has worked it's way loose somewhere. You might want to have a certified tech run a diagnostics on it.
  16. Having an engine sitting for long periods of time is never good for them...they love to run. Prior to putting the boat on the water after storing it is a good idea to change out all of the engine and outdrive fluids, check the filters for debris and generally give it a good "going over". With the oil pressure jumping up like that, it would be a good idea to have a certified Mercury or Volvo tech take a look at it. An engine is only as good as your preventative maintenance schedule.
  17. Hello Ocean Parkway, Please give Monterey tech support a call at 352-529-9181 or 352-528-2628 as the engine serial numbers cannot be posted.
  18. Check the fuse block first. It is underneath the dash and the nav light fuse is clearly marked. If it is not the fuse, it could be the switch or the nav light. To check the light itself, test to see if you are getting power to the light when the switch is in the on position.
  19. I regret that you have had difficulty finding what you need, the vendor did change hands a couple of times and it took some research...here is the info: The supplier for the holder and the galley cabinets was Spartech Polycast (321-636-7562) web is www.spartechmarine.com. The part number is HOLDER-322108-0008 PORT FORWARD DECK DRINK HOLDER and the starboard number is 322109-0009. The galley cabinet is part #CABINET-322506-002. I do not have a number for the latch, they came already installed. I hope this will finally help.
  20. Depending on which one here is the info: SCUPPER-SS-75017 1-1/2" SS THRU HULL -90 DEG.-DOUBLE NUTS At the stern SCUPPER-SS-71007 1.5" THRU HULL SCUPPER LONG Mid-ship They are manufactured by Gem Products, 800-874-4506 and the web is www.gemlux.com.
  21. Hello Hermosa, Many people have had success with www.swimplatforms.com as they copy our design as well as many other manufacturers. So far...nothing negative. It is not an actual recommendation that you use them, it is quite simply "word of mouth". You can also check with your dealer, local marina or research the internet.
  22. Hello Hermosa, The LOA (Length Overall) on the 200LS is 19' 6" and the boat has an 8' 5" beam. Lots of room. As for the extended swim platform, it was not a Monterey factory option. Enjoy and boat safe,
  23. Hello Hercdriver, The 180FS is a great boat. But it is even greater when the wife and kids love it! As for your question regarding the boat's exterior hull design and size.... there have been no changes. As for the covers fitting the extended swim platform I cannot answer that. You will have to ask the salesperson who you are purchasing the mooring cover from for the measurements and check out the length. A full cover is a very good thing to invest in. Be sure to have proper ventilation to avoid moisture build up that can cause mold and discoloration. Also, use supports to prevent the cover from holding rain water and possibly ripping apart. Boat safe and enjoy....
  24. This update is being copied and posted from the "NMMA Currents" which is a newsletter distributed by the National Marine Manufacturers Association to their members: It's Official: President Bush Signs Clean Boating Act of 2008 ! Tuesday afternoon, July 29, President George Bush signed into law H.R. 5949/S. 2766, the Clean Boating Act of 2008, solidifying continued protection for boaters, anglers and marine enthusiasts all across the country. President Bush's signature of this important bill officially closes the door on a two-year battle to reinstate a long-standing, commonsense exemption under the Clean Water Act that allows recreational boaters and anglers to operate vessels on America's waterways without special permits for non-pollutant discharges. Passage of this legislation has been the top legislative priority for NMMA during the 110th Congress, and NMMA staff and its members, including BoatU.S. and West Marine among others, worked diligently and tirelessly to see the Clean Boating Act became equally as important to members of Congress. Introduced by Senators Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) and Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) in the Senate and by Representatives Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) and Candice Miller (R-Mich.) in the House, the Clean Boating Act of 2008 will prevent federal and state permitting of water-based, non-polluting incidental discharges that occur in the normal operation of a recreational boat, such as weather deck run-off and engine coolant water. Signage of H.R. 5949/S. 2766 into law is an historic victory for NMMA's 1,700 member companies and for boaters and anglers nationwide! ©2008 - National Marine Manufacturers Association Thanks to all who contacted their public officials......we won!!!!!
