  1. Hello Martin, Up on deck below the wetbar the factory option was an icemaker and it was distributed by U-Line Products (414-354-7885). The part number is ICEMAKER-WH95TP-WH and the manufacturer was Isotherm. Those babies are expensive!
  2. Hello Chris, You can download the 200LS manual from the Product Support section at the opening page of "My Monterey". It is in the Sport Boat category.
  3. Clean_out_plug.pdf Here you go.....now you can put it back! (disregard the arrows and numbers-they have no meaning in this photo).
  4. Hello JGraves, That is a Bimini support rod holder and you can get them from Taylor Made: www.taylormadegroup.com in the marine canvas section. They are gray or white....
  5. Monterey did not offer the windlass as an option on the 248. There is no specific data that we could rely on to advise you on installation, selection, etc. Sorry-
  6. You can order replacement keys or blanks for the cabin door at www.mobella.com. You will need the number if you want the key itself and not a blank, it is imprinted on the inside of the lock (in the plastic center piece). You can also have them copied at most Harley Davidson shops. For ignition keys they can be copied at any hardware store.
  7. Inside the ski locker (forward section) you will see a small square hatch...inside that compartment is the shower sump, foward bilge pump and the toilet seacock. The seacock is made of Marlon and if it has not been moved in a long time it can be hard to get it to turn for the first time. Marlon is very tough- but do not use excessive force (such as a hammer!) as you can possibly break the handle off..... Just work it little by little and it will loosen.
  8. Issue Date: 5/16/2008, Posted On: 5/16/2008 Update from "Trade Only Today": House committee approves Clean Boating Act The National Marine Manufacturers Association applauded the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee this week for approving the Clean Boating Act, paving the way for consideration by the House of Representatives. “What’s pretty significant is that in a Congress that’s been so partisan, we have bipartisan support for boating," Scott Gudes, NMMA vice president of government relations, said this morning. The Clean Boating Act of 2008, H.R. 5949, would fully and permanently restore a longstanding regulation that excludes recreational boaters and anglers from the federal and state permitting requirements under the Clean Water Act designed for land-based industrial facilities and ocean-going commercial ships. This exemption was overturned by a federal court in 2006 in a case focused exclusively on ballast water from commercial vessels. Gudes says the legislation is a “good government solution to a looming administrative and legal crisis for boaters across America.” The House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, chaired by U.S. Rep. James Oberstar, D-Minn., approved H.R. 5949 this week by voice vote. The bill will now go before the full House for a vote. “Congress’ work is far from over,” said Gudes. “We now strongly urge the full House and the United States Senate — where identical legislation has 33 bipartisan sponsors — to quickly pass this legislation and send it to the President for signature into law well in advance of the September 2008 permitting deadline.” H.R. 5949 is identical to S. 2766, Senate legislation introduced by Senators Bill Nelson, D-Fla., and Barbara Boxer, D-Calif. S. 2766 is pending before the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee, chaired by Boxer. Gudes said the House intends to wait for the Senate to move forward with its version of the bill; it’s hoped the Senate committee will take up S. 2766 next week. Gudes said the industry needs to keep up the pressure to get the bill through Congress and signed by the president before September. “We have to get them to understand we’re up against a ticking clock,” he said. — Melanie Winters m.winters@tradeonlytoday.com Well...finally some good news!
  9. It is probably not possible to fix the compass as it sounds like it has cracked somewhere. The original one was an E.S. Ritchie & Sons product, part # is COMPASS-F-83W-WHT and the telephone is 781-826-5131. Ask for Kathleen...she was very helpful in the past and can tell you whether it is repairable or not.
  10. It sounds like your automatic float switch is not working (it is the square white box beside the bilge pump). You can test that by turning the knob on the side of it back and forth. You will hear the pump kick on if the switch is good. It is a good idea to change those out every few years anyway...
  11. Hello Revenge, If it is a Monterey factory installed AC unit, give Marine Air tech support a call at: 954-973-2477 in Florida. They will troubleshoot with you and you might be able to resolve the problem quicker. They are responsive and do a pretty good job at returning calls. Just have the serial number of your unit when you contact them for easier service. Since you haven't had any issues with it, it is probably something simple.
  12. Hello Jeff, Those are part #G618-28 OPENING port. The web address is www.pompanette.com and the phone is 603-826-5791. Thanks,
  13. Those portlights are a Pompanette/Bomar product and the part number will be GS618 for SS or GS616 for white plastic. The web address is: www.pompanette.com or telephone 603-826-5791. I am certain they will sell the screens seperately. I hope this helps,
  14. Tou can order parts through any Monterey dealer for your boat. The dealer locator is on our home page-just click on the icon and enter your zip.
  15. Hello SV236, I have always liked the look of the 236...it is sleek. The extended swim platform was not offered as a factory option on the 236 BR or Cuddy. Many boat owners have had success with an aftermarket company: www.swimplatforms.com. We do not endorse nor recommend them (as we have no direct dealings with them or their products) but we are passing the info on to you as "word of mouth" from happy customers. We do know they have been around for several years and provide products for many manufacturers boats. Let us know what happens!
  16. Hello Gary, You need to add that to your annual preventative maintenance checklist. Check fittings (especially grounds) and lubricate them annually to help prevent corrosion. "Things" tend to loosen over time....
  17. Welcome Aboard and thank you for choosing a Monterey!
  18. Hello Herb, Unfortunately, due to the fire in late 1999 a manual specific to your boat is no longer available from the factory. In our Product Support Section, the 236 Cuddy manual is the model most similar to yours. Any specific questions can be posted here, or call 352-528-2628 (Mon-Fri) from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm (EST) and ask for "tech help".
  19. Hello Jerry, The 2700 Sports Cruiser was in production for about 4 years, has no history of specific warranty issues or factory recalls. The actual hull design is indeed very similar to the hull design of the current 270 Cruiser being built today. It is a smooth and comfortable ride. The specs on the boat are as follows: LOA...28' 8" Hull length...27' Beam...9'6" Fuel Capacity...130 gals. HP rating...single 350 MAG, T- 200's. Dry Weight...6700 lbs (twins) Unfortunately we did suffer a fire in late 1999 and there are no diagrams or manual specific to your boat. Manuals for individual systems are most likely available from the vendors. Any questions regarding that can be posted here. You can purchase aftermarket canvas items through www.greatlakesboattop.com or westlandgotchacovered.com. In the photo you provided, the gelcoat color appears to be the original "Cobalt Blue" which is probably still available from MiniCraft (contact info is www.minicraft.com). You will need your hull ID number which begins with the letters "RGF" and is located on the starboard transom of the boat when you contact them. Original upholstery patterns and fabrics are no longer available from the vendor but you can use local resources to have existing pieces recovered. If you have a particular question about your boats systems or a certain part, you can call 352-528-2628 and ask for "tech help" Monday thru Friday, from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm (EST). To obtain information about the engine specifics, please contact the manufacturer direct. Good luck, it is a workhorse of a boat and a great looking Cruiser!
  20. Anchors for the 234FS are not provided by the factory, however- some owners have used a Delta Fastset #12 (?) style with success. So much depends on your type of sea/lake/river bottom and water conditions as to which style will work best for you. I hope this helps.
  21. The specs on the 296 Cruiser are as follows: LOA... 31' 6" Hull length... 28' 10" Beam... 10' Bridge Clearance 7' 7" with arch...9' 4" Draft Up...21" Draft down... 37" Fuel Cap...140 gals. Water Cap... 44 gals. Waste Cap... 21 gals. Dry weight...8000 lbs Degree of Deadrise...19 As for speed of the boat, performance greatly depends on the condition and the maintenance history of the engines. Also, water, wind, current, load on the boat, fuel, props, outdrive gear ratios, altitude and operator experience all effect performance. Record the above information before your trips out to help you get a grasp on fuel consumption (for range). Get everything in good working order before you sea trial and then let us know what kind of numbers you are turning.
  22. The 270 Crusier manual is located in the Product Support section (where you first see the forums listed) of "My Monterey".
